50km in 10 mins

Turned out me getting lost was a blessing in disguise. because I was getting the cramps, we decided to take the train to Colmar instead. 2pm and 31C was just not ideal to ride 50km to Colmar...

By chance we found the TER200 (bullet train which travels at 200km/h) which took us to Colmar in 10 mins, and at about 4EUR per person, best money we have spent!

getting lost

yes I got lost and separated from the boys. rode an extra 6.6km of rolling hills. ouch! This is me reunited with the boys. after this I made sure to ask where we were going!!

no warning

all of a sudden we were climbing up this STEEP hill to somewhere. We have no idea what we were riding to, and man was it hard! lugging up 77 kg of me, and 45 kg of bike and luggage was hard work. but we made it!

Day 2 - we leave the comfy 2 star Hotel Gutenberg for our ride! Air is chilly in the morning about 21C. Boys are all smiles and excited at what lies ahead (getting lost, going in circles, and trying to make sense of small paper maps, and a not-so-cooperative GPS device)
